We believe that our role as a distributor, at the interface between customers and manufacturers, is crucial in solving today's challenges. In response to the urgency of the situation and the ever-growing demand of our clients, we are accelerating our action with the launch of this selection. While we select all our products with expertise, those bearing the Sustainable Selection icon have fulfilled additional demanding criteria concerning sustainability. We are at the beginning of a demanding and ambitious ongoing approach which in due course will bring us to offer more and more sustainable products. This will only be made possible by acting together and in coordination with the whole value chain (end-users, customers, Rexel and suppliers)
The selection is based on sustainability criteria rather than price considerations. Sustainable products can sometimes - but not always - be more expensive than similar products, owing to different production methods, materials, or more costly technologies involved. These products often provide long-term benefits such as energy savings, durability, and reduced environmental impact, which means greater value and lower total cost of ownership over their lifespan.
Rexel attaches great importance to setting clear rules for the most appropriate packaging to reduce waste. The strategic initiative is being conducted in parallel with suppliers with a view to reducing packaging to just what is needed for the product's purpose.
